报告摘要:High throughput technologies such as genechip, next generation sequencing, and mass spectrometry has revolutionized biomedical research in the past two decades. With the development of next generation sequencing technologies, a huge amount of “omic” data have been accumulated in biomedical research providing measurements at all levels of molecular biological processes from genotype to epignome, transcriptome, proteome, metabolome, and metagenome. In disease research, these data are often accompanied by other phenotype information such as histopathology and radiology images, clinical notes and electronic medical records. To harness these different modalities of data for both basic and translational research as well as precision medicine applications, new mathematical models, statistical methods, and computational algorithms are needed. In this talk, I will introduce a few examples and challenges for integrative analysis of multi-modal data in both precision medicine and basic bioinformatics research.

黄昆,主要研究方向为生物信息学、生物医学图像分析、生物医学大数据处理等,在《Nature》、《Science》、《Cell》等杂志和会议上合作发表学术论文180余篇。
