Its a banner!

Yay, a blog. Well, its a pretty specific blog about my adventures in Lord of the Rings Online. It spans about three quarters of a year I think, and I haven't updated it in a while. It was originally posted on the forum of the Knights of Iluvatar and it still remains there to date. I've gathered it all here for your reading pleasure, and will update whenever I add a new one. Oldest stuff at the bottom, newest at the top. One of these days I might actually make some navigation to go in a sidebar. But not today.

regards,

Barry

Didnt level much, but made master tailor. Soon I'll make a gazillion pristine leather braces and plates to be used by Azrakhul for his artisan metalsmith (made supreme with him, but still mastering artisan... dwarf iron ore... its such a bore). Jorri and Thorvaled (my wife's hunter) make a fine couple, and Nogg promised he'd also don the armor of the Dwarven Foreign Legion and join in (yes, we do have a set of dwarven leather to go along with our madness). Plus I have a load of nifty outfit items to make from a few festivals, and some burglar signals. He'll be tailoring a lot soon I guess Smile

--Azrakhul Shieldhammer, Champion, level 60, Armoursmith.--
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I like to turtle turtle. I like to turtle turtle. I like to turtle turtle. I like to... turtle! That, and I also don't mind spending an hour or two grinding up monsters in Garth Aragwen. Turns out GA has the highest drop rate ever of tier 3 scholar relics, coupled with 8-14 silver per mod that drops silver and a whole lot of loot makes it quite profitable. Best so far is some 2/2-5 gold per hour, which is quite the output, I think, for a good grind. I can get my inventory full in about 20 minutes and then sell it all in Ost Guruth. I also found a load of chainmail armor thingies and am quite happy with both my outfits so far. The eye-patch looks really wicked and the armor looks really metallic, so life is good and Azrakhul looks like a hard-bitten no-frills veteran of a thousand fights. Which, judging from the dead mobs he left in his trail, he actually is.

Oh, and I got me a horse. Yes, indeed. I know. I LOVE IT!

Entered Moria with Hall & Lyll, and it was great fun, though the missus was sorely disappointed she was not allowed to open the doors of Moria itself. Infact, she was downright annoyed and thought it bad form. Our LI's are ok, Lyll named hers Lyllwyns little Longsword, a good name as any, and I named mine Riphook for now (ten extra points if you know from which game it comes, 500 silver if you can give me the PKK build for it for 1.09... I want specifics though, with FHR/FPS calculations). All in all we had a jolly time hunting down the tentacles of the watcher and watching dwarfs get splattered all over.

--Salmira, Burglar, level 41, Historian.--
----------------------------------------------
Levelling spinach, though not as much as Xzy, has been eaten by Salmira. Level 41 indeed... backstabbing her way through the North Downs, lake Everswim, The Throllshaws and some areas of the Misty Mountains and Angmar got her up with her daddy Gorbulac again. Many thanks to Sacre for the Rawr-jewelry and Xzy for the two daggers "Ouch" and "That hurts". Due to massive fate and lots of damage things get sliced and diced like there is no tomorrow. And slice and dice she did. With the full complement of level 40+ skills there is a lot of emergency management which can be performed here. Do a FS move, mez a critter, deal massive DoT and some extra DoT just to follow up, spray some caltrops, stun someone with dust and most importantly, let someone fall over your marbles... I swear, best ever to open a bag of marbles and let a troll trip over them. It doesn't exactly hurt that she is now Master Scholar.. 3% extra damage and 3% less damage taken (I have a boatload of left-over scrolls) is quite nice. Salmira also has a horse.. where Azrakhul has the horse as somewhat of a luxurity sometimes, Salmira gets a lot of use out of it. She travels to and fro with the horse, even within instances, to cover areas and keep on fighting.

--Brairn, Runekeeper, level 33, Tinker. --
------------------------------------------------
My Runekeeper got to level 33 and he does it quite nicely. I gave him another healing trait so now he has four and i am beginning to get a solid understanding of runekeeper healing. At first you have the feeling you are working uphill but once the meter starts running, you are soon rumbling (or humming) along. Doling out heal spells left and right, maintaing those spells and adding the occasional 40% DR makes for a fine healing combo indeed. Even though I have healing traits as main I find I do not really lack damage, and with proper monster management killing things with twice as many HP's as myself is still doable ( I did avoid a level 39 8K master elite though... that's a bit rough to solo if its a drake and you are level 33). I'm going to let my scholar make me a few of those nifty consumables for runekeepers I think and see how much they add and whether its worth investing in them. Alignment changes can be quite usefull in a combat after all.

Wink Her current inventory holds a boatload of purple items all around level 43-54-ish, ready for the plucking. Dunno what to do with most, but still.. ready they are. For the plucking. Like a duck, a rubber duck. Pluck pluck. Maybe I should lay off the spice coffee...

--Jorri Stonebreaker, Guardian, level 28, Explorer.--
------------------------------------------------------------
Jorri’s life consists of the occasional bout of activity followed by long days of slumber and semi-crafting. He’s a good Guardian though, guards his beer with great care and occasionally falls into the trap of a slumber-party at the bar. He participated in quite a few of the summer festival activities, now has a cloak from said summer festival (nice cloak it is… I really like it).

------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Azrakhul Shieldhammer, Champion, level 60, Armoursmith.--
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Level 60…. So what is left to do. Well… for one thing… you can bother nissie with materials untill he crafts you two spanking new 2nd age reforgable hammers. And boy, they are nice. Both now have Fervour mod and the smaller of the two comes with AoE damage which makes it ideal for shield-and-hammer style fighting. The bigger one has some nice mods too… FERVOUR! WOO! You can also grind your reputation and gather loads of gold and immediately spend it again on useless stuff. I am now Kindred with both the Iron Garrison Miners and Guards… not that it brings me much in the short run, but as soon as I gather 6 gold (have .014 gold or 14 silver atm) I’ll buy me a goat and never have to walk again with my main. I also got to Friend status with Lothlorien, entered Calas Galadhorn and became a bit disappointed with all the pointy-ear stuff. Of course, there is a reason why I have just one elf and four dwarves (four? Yes… four! Read more later on)… pointy eared shiznit is wasted on me.

------------------------------------------------------------
--Hallwyn Nuinloth, Hunter, level 49, Woodworker --
------------------------------------------------------------
So… once you hit 45 or something, you can already enter Eregion, and then things move really really really really fast. We crisscrossed Eregion, ended up at level 48, went back to Angmar for book 6, did that, crisscrossed Angmar a bit more and to top it off we ended up in the Rift… great fun with a Kin-party  At any rate, Hallwyn (and Lyllwyn) progress really well, and are doing fine. Just need a load of Hunter Books and pages and then I’ll be doing it the Right Way  I have an nice level 50 Bow, and great, I mean excellent, level 50 boots. Again, thank you very much kinnies!
----------------------------------------------
--Salmira, Burglar, level 33, Historian.--
----------------------------------------------
Salmira hit somewhat of a dead spot, being level 33 and having done a lot of quests in the North Downs already. Looks like she’s up for some grinding (worms or something) in order to make one or two levels before she can continue to Evendim. The leveling curve hit her with the wrong side of the slapstick Wink

------------------------------------------------
--Brairn, Runekeeper, level 27, Tinker. --
------------------------------------------------
I have to admit, I started to feel a bit letdown by my runekeeper. But I retraited him for healing, got a couple of levels and now he’s really starting to rock and roll. Good spells, nice HoT, excellent in group-play…although he cannot provide the buffing nor the Emergency Healing a Minstrel can he can provide excellent HoT which keeps everyone topped off pretty well. I can imagine a Runekeeper keeping alive a party, or a raid, especially if working in tandem with a Minstrel. Runekeeper does the HoT and generally keeps everyone topped off and the Minstrel buffs and heals specifiek people who go down too quick for the HoT to keep up with.

------------------------------------------------
Cute. CUTE. CUUUTE. TOO CUTE TO BE ON MY ACCOUNT… And thus deleted.

------------------------------------------------
--Uthard, Minstrel, level 15 Yeoman --
------------------------------------------------
I made a new Minstrel… a blonde dwarf named Uthard. Dunno about the Ut part, but he sure leveled hard… from 1 to 15 in about six hours… that new leveling curve feels slightly out of balance. What I also found with my hobbit mini is that its just too easy to level and pass quests on the way in. There’s no real fun in that. But the minstrel in itself is greatly amusing, and I am going to aim for a combat-minstrel because I simply like that, and because my Runekeeper is going for party-support.

That's it. All done!

--Jorri Stonebreaker, Guardian, level 27, Explorer.--
------------------------------------------------------------
Jorri is slowly crawling up the level-ladder again, working together with Lyllwyn's Hunter, Thorvaeld. He likes nothing better than gathering a huge group of enemies around himself, keeping them all trailed to him whilst Thorvie pumps them with arrows. Yeah, Jorri is turning into a fine piece of work.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Azrakhul Shieldhammer, Champion, level 60, Armoursmith.--
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, that is right, we DO have a level cap. And now that he managed to hit it, he's twiddeling his thumbs a bit around the Bar in Thorins Hall. I'll take him out for a spin soon again, but for now Azziecool is on "vacation". 60 came easy, after a good run through a large instance with the kinnies I was 59 1/3rd, and the quests in the Dimril Dale took care of the rest. Although they are officially labelled as "small FS" one can run most of them solo if playing with care. Rolled for a really nice cloak which has two hammers on the back, and managed to get it too... thanks again kinnies! I even found my second 2nd age LI (the first one was a captains sword with appeareantly pretty good legacies which I donated to a kinswoman), which turned out to be a level 59 hunters bow, appearently worth some 30 gold according to the traders. My Hallwyn has an end-game weapon it appears ^_^.

In short, getting to level 60 lots of fun, but I can't wait to start levelling again.

------------------------------------------------------------
--Hallwyn Nuinloth, Hunter, level 43, Woodworker --
------------------------------------------------------------
Hall and Lyll went on to the misty mountains, where hoards of bears, giants, lizards, elusive and not-so-elise snowbeasts and lurkers got reduced to loot-bags. And dwarves. LOTS of dwarves. Hall made it to 43, and only a few more levels to go before they'll hit 48 and move to Eregion and Moria. That will be odd, a 2nd character in Moria. But as stated above a nice endgame bow awaits him. Can't wait to name the damned thing... dunno how I will name it though.

----------------------------------------------
--Salmira, Burglar, level 32, Historian.--
----------------------------------------------
Burgling is an art. A fine art. When teamed up with say a guardian, you can turn into some sort of a mini-minstrel by applying FS manouvres at the most critical times. You can start one about every 2 minutes or so, if you plan a bit, and that means you can dual- full fs quests. Birds of a Feather? They might flock together, but two hobbits kill em all. Pulling Beards... yeah... easy.... just pummel the dude you have to kill untill he's dead while ignoring the rest, adn then run because you have 400 morale left. Drake hunting? Suuuuure... drakes gets pinned against lill hobbit guardian, burglar starts backstabbing, debuffs and down it goes. Once every 2 drakes you do a FS move to heal up, and it is great fun.... just dont try to take down Elite Masters... they DO eat you.

------------------------------------------------
--Brairn, Runekeeper, level 24, Tinker. --

Brairn spend an afternoon in the kitchens of Thorins Hall, making pie. Hmm... pie. Other than that, he cleaned the house...

------------------------------------------------
--Baranoc, Minstrel, level 10, Yeoman --
------------------------------------------------
A new Hobbit! Hell yeah! Baranoc is my cutesiepie Minstrel, who was level 10 before I even noticed. Went really quick. Odd. Great fun, playing a real infant again... 400 morale... 8 skills... I like it. And he's cute. But all hobbits are. Cutesiepie. Cute. CUUUUUTE.

Jorri had a sleep-over at Gimli's, drank lots of Trollbrew and collapsed in a senseless heap of gibbering laughter at the sight of an ever much more drunker Brairn.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Azrakhul Shieldhammer, Champion, level 57, Armoursmith.--
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Over the course of the week I clawed my way up to level 57 butchering goblins and orcs left and right. Someone lured me into Goblin Town with the promise of Trolls (all lies!) but we went to Gollum's cave and all was well.. and fun Very Happy

On saturday evening (yesterday) I logged on at 18:00-ish to prepare for Tiqon's Misadventure... so I bought a whole truckload of Lembas from the AH and had Brairn make me a load of Glossy Edelhaern Tokens (the best I can make at the moment). And then someone (Artrikus to be preceise) suggested we go to the Forgotten Treasury... since I had no less than four quests there (none of which have been completed... lol) I was more than entousiastic to go to the Forgotten Treasury. So off we went. All things went pretty well though my PC suffers from heat issues at the moment and I need to turn on my fan full-throttle (noisy vacuuum( to make sure the heat is dispersed properly, untill we came to Morhun. Of course, everyone who 's ever played Morhun hunt will recognize the irony in his name. So... we charged at Morhun, he tossed down a pile of acid, and all of a sudden I was dead. All of a sudden? No.... slow-down and speedup thanks to a final heat-spike meant I found myself dead on the floor without warning. Annoying... but alas...

Then we went for the two trolls... so someone set a target priority on one of the trolls... he set a Skull, and told us to attack the Skull, and then of course the trolls names were Skum and something else and I , being the idiot I was, read "Skum" instead of "Skull" and started chopping onto Skum... *cough cough* Thanks to my partners in crime however we got them down because eventually Artrikus managed to spot the idiotic dwarf attacking Skum and told him to attack that other one.... at least I didnt get myself killed Very Happy

So... 30 minute break, and then it was on to Carn Dum. We gathered up everyone, and at first all went well... no, wait, that 's a lie.. we ran past a couple of Orcs but the end-zone was filled with enemies and Tiq died, and I died... nah... just a dream... nothing more Very Happy Thanks to someone who's name I forgot from the Cookies who's in our alliance for tagging along.

So, in we went, and we went for Tiq's rune which all went really well, and then we went for Helchie... yes... so... the first time I'm not really sure what went wrong... well.. Wildgrim fell in due to lag, and Nettle fought some different tentacles, and then we went to nettle and got picked off one by one. Not good. My tokens came in handy.
Helchie 1, IK 0

Round two... Wild lagged... *splash*... I'm guessing we got split up again... I tried to run back and fell into the Green Pool because I missed a jump *splash*.. an instant later Tiq died and we got wiped.
Helchie 2, IK 0

Round three
Round three was rather hazy and resembled rounds two and one.... Eventually I was the only one left, I ran over the pillar again, chopped Helchie down to 29K, ran back and deceided that my repair bill would be big enough as is and bailed from the instance.
Helchie 3, IK 0

So... Tiq and Morlil went to bed, and seeing that we'd been at it for three hours I wasn't surprised. I was getting near head-on-keyboard state, but that damned tentacle thingie was now really getting on my nerves. With the help of Xzy, Catha and Ini Nettle, Nis and I managed to fianlly drag the screaming Helchie out of her green pool and take the slime... Wild had to bail halfway through as his card ran out, and Nettle, who suffered from technical problems, came back in. Phew. Well... fight's not hard, just need to be carefull about the green pool and not get seperated Smile

Hallwyn and Lyllwyn have returned to the Trollshaws. Together with Gnugrim we hunted a lot of spiders which was great fun, and then we went to sleep... *yawns* hmm sleep...

--Jorri Stonebreaker, Guardian, level 26, Explorer.--
------------------------------------------------------------
Yestday Jorri and his buddy Thorvaeld finished up at Ost Guruth and moved to Trestlebridge, where they will continue their assault on the evil that threathens Middle Earth. Again the Guardian/Hunter combo proves to be extremely powerfull, although a lack of serious self-healing does cut us short sometimes. We ran into a couple of Gaunt War Singer thingies, and whilst I can handle the damage output of a single one, if they have wights with them I can only hope to hold off the tide for a little while.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Azrakhul Shieldhammer, Champion, level 55, Armoursmith.--
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Moria is simply AMAZING. So far I have seen Dolven View, the mines at the Silvertine Lodes, Durin's Way, the gardens in Durin's way, the 21st hall, the 2nd hall (got near the bridge of Khazad Dum but I had a different errand to run), and the Waterworks... an awesome sight to behold. The 2nd hall did impress me a lot, but those Waterworks... its just so .. wet... and .. slippery. I've met the bottom of a pit the hard way a few times over, and its great entertainment (though not for my wallet...). I neglected my armoursmithing a lot though so I'll have to make up for that with prodigious amounts of Ore soon. Ah well. I've aquired a nice one-handed hammer and a nice sword, and am now building up a storage of iXP to make sure I can level a new weapon once I get it. DPS is important, I've noticed. MY favorite skill by far is Improved Rend now, as it offers a goodly amount of DoT coupled with a lowering in armor value. Things drop like flies.

------------------------------------------------------------
--Hallwyn Nuinloth, Hunter, level 41, Woodworker --
------------------------------------------------------------
A few notes of Evendim together with a few snatches of Angmar do make you level 41 really quick. We're currently working on book 4, and Hallwyn seems the one character destined to finish all the Epic Books, if only because my wife wants em all ^_^.
----------------------------------------------
--Salmira, Burglar, level 25, Historian.--
----------------------------------------------
I started playing with my Burglar again and now that I have spend extensive time in the field with my Champ, I can get a lot more mileage out of this baby... the skills work together nicely and if its humanoids i am facing, they are doomed... packs of three humie opponents don't really pose a threat anymore... I moved from Surprise Strike as an opening to Cunning Strike (seeing that the DoT from my champ really worked well) and it makes life a LOT easier. With only two class traits (both from the Quiet Knife) I get a 15% bonus on positional damage and boy... do they feel that... 400 HPS? 4 seconds... and then I can pick up the loot.

Here is how the assault goes on a batch of humanoids:

Stealth, Distract, Aim, Weaken, Cunning Strike, Surprise Strike, Burglars Advantage, Double-bladed blow (or somesuch)... corpse... Riddle the 2nd... Dust the 3rd, Miscievious Glee for morale regen, Daze, Startling Twist, Weaken, run in his back for Cunning Strike, Surprise Strike, at that point I can often reapply a trick, or the crit chain, and then I finish up the 3rd (start in his back too ^_^). I have to be a tad more carefull around non-riddleables as I can't park one, but as long as I can start Stealthed I have the advantage. In case of non-stealth...Touch and Go, Tricks all around and then stun-kill-stun-kill. In short, I really dig my teeny hobbit burglar.

Jorri went on a killing spree with Thorvaeld, Lyllwyn's Dwarven Hunter. In fact, they went on a short but hefty killing spree, gathering levels and pretty enjoying themselves. Very much fun, and a good and nice way to play. Hunter + Guardian is a good combo.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Azrakhul Shieldhammer, Champion, level 52, Armoursmith.--
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I ran along, left a ten-foot-wide trail of dead and looted critters in Forochel, did the same in Eregion, and then I ran into Moria... or not, as the server crashed... got rollbacked a little (two chapters in a book, no biggie), and eventually I still got into Moria.

Man... that was awesome. The book to get into Moria, I liked it, lots of attention to the little details, nice quests, nice rewards, and of course a (rather crummy looking) Third Age Legendary Item. The one question that keeps running through my mind is :WHY NO 2-HANDED AXES YOU DUMMIES? So... lets hope one pops soon so that I may begin using a 2-handed axe. I like 2-handed axes. I sure do.

Moria is amazing, the art is cool, there's goblins everywhere, the music is nice, the monsters are critterish, and I am enjoying myself a lot. All I want is an axe... an axe Very Happy. But ill get one, eventually!

------------------------------------------------------------
--Hallwyn Nuinloth, Hunter, level 38, Woodworker --
------------------------------------------------------------
We went through Evendim, which we found boring. The general tune of music and area doesn't fit to our feelings. So... after mucho complaints, we went to the Trollshaws, and Hall and Lyll are currently running quests that are yellow/reddish, with the appropriate monsters. Hard work, but good XP, good rewards and a load of fun. Soon we'll be moving on to Angmar, and then Forochel and the Misty Mountains, and then Eregion... Moria... hell yeah, a 2nd guy into Moria would be nice. About a month's work, I think.

Lets hope the server restart is done by now *yawns*

Jorri is now running around in a full set of mastercrafted armor for the Tanking-Impaired, whic gives him abuot 1500 armor at level 24 (or rather, gave him that at level 21) . Quite nice, and worth the effort. As he's also using a 2-handed axe atm, he's very happy that he's using some tightly woven metal fabric to keep in shape.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Azrakhul Shieldhammer, Champion, level 36, Armoursmith.--
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shortlist: levelled, killed a lot of critters, levelled some more, got to Artisan Tier with metalsmit, forged myself some Iron Dwarven Armor (looks nice, imho, many thanks to Nisraen and IIRC Amber who provided me with a) support in hunting Pristine Hides and lending me some Ore and b) turning those Pristine Hides into something usable for my Metalsmith), popped from 32 to 34.999 due to book 7 so that I hadnt had the time to gather enough gold to ride at 35, got to 35 and then to 36, hunted Drakes with Haste and Aikony (great fun that was... Very Happy ), almost gathered the materials to provide me with a shield to hide behind if the going gets tough (all I need is one more lousy Dwarven Iron Ore, but ill get it, and many thanks to Sacre for getting me my pristine leather plates)... and in between I ran all the way to Moria only to stop well before the actual gates because "you don't have the corrosponding quest" . Yeah thats cool and all but all I wanted was to see the Doors of Moria, or rather, whats left of them... *sighs* gotta level some more I guess.

------------------------------------------------------------
--Hallwyn Nuinloth, Hunter, level 30, Woodworker --
------------------------------------------------------------
We got to 30 whilst killing stuff and doing quests. That's pretty much all we do... kill stuff and do quests... Wink Had lotsa fun, but am currently focusing on Azzie so that I can get him into Moria.

----------------------------------------------
--Salmira, Burglar, level 23, Historian.--
----------------------------------------------
Salmira now wears golden-blue Dwarf Leather armor with a Brimmed Hat and a golden-blue Linen Cloak to go along, and has two Bright Steel Swords. She can dish out the pain pretty well with Sneak, Aim and Reveal Weakness, but she sure cannot take it... then again, "thinking" monsters in packs of twos and threes are still easily mangled as she can park one for 30 seconds, Daze and Addle the second and then kill the 3rd one (if that one hasnt already died from the initial backstab... easier these days as everything has lower HP's). My wife says she looks a little like Puss-in-boots, but I disagree... she looks more like a mini-musketeer.

--Brairn, Runekeeper, level 22, Tinker. --

Did some quests, got him to 22, finally finished his apprentice jeweller tier... gollygosh thats kinda hard work there... finding the last copper Wink

Too much happened to list really...Azzie levelled to 30, taking a lead over jorri that will be hard to pick up. Sprint is a really really really nice skill to have on a Champ and I really like using it. Bought a house... not sure about the quality if the investment at first, but I'll be looking into a massive muling session soon in order to sort out all the various crafting components. Went to Orthrikar... nice place, lots of fun solo quests... I'm looking forward to getting to level 31 and crafting Dwarven Iron Armor for him... wanted to have an armor like that ever since I started playing LOTRO.

Hall and Lyll had a boatload of adventures. They had a boatload of levels... and most importantly, thanks to a very ncie fundraising event with loads of nice Illuvatarian Knights ,they are also both Troll-Hewers. Nis told us we collected 750 silver in total, which was very ok Very Happy

In short, the Elf-dude and his gal are doing really nice.

Wardens aint my thing... as much as others like Spartans, for me it just was not meant to be right now. I deleted Salmirasse, and created the Runekeer Dwarf below...

--Jorri Stonebreaker, Guardian, level 18, Explorer.--
------------------------------------------------------------

Jorri got a new Dwarven Hauberk this week, as his gear looked kinda too mixed up. He now looks rather splendid, and together with his new shiney Steel Axe and his shield kicks ass, so to speak. I had a good time finishing up some old quests and getting the Barghest Slayer title. 18.6 he is now, and I'll soon be levelling him to 20.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Uneventfull week for Azzie. Apart from crafting a bit more for some character, he didnt get out much.

------------------------------------------------------------
--Hallwyn Nuinloth, Hunter, level 18, Woodworker --
------------------------------------------------------------
Hallwyn has been quite busy. He's almost got his Masters Apprentice now, he finished all of the "Sharkey's Plans" Questline apart from the last quest (the combined might of Hallwyn and Lyllwyn was not strong enough to kill off two 1700 HP Orcs, let alone backed up by some 3 lesser enemies, we didnt even try), he levelled quite a bit, and togehter with Lyllwyn he went hunting for Snapping turtles. Those things are vicious! And on top of that he got his Explorer's Expert, so now we can actually harvest Yew wood! JAAAAY!

----------------------------------------------
--Salmira, Burglar, level 14, Historian.--
----------------------------------------------
Another character with an uneventfull week. I imagine Salmira spend most of her time fishing and fooling about with hobbit boys (and eating, and counting her loot) as she sure didnt get to be online.

------------------------------------------------
--Salmirasse, Warden, level 9,Explorer. --
------------------------------------------------
Yes, a new character. Wardens are nice, and I wanted something that runs really fast (combined with Forced March I can hit 25% run speed for 5 minutes) and can harvest all the wood and ore she comes across. Thus, I created Salmirasse, who can, as soon as she hits 14 (and will) harvest Ore. And Ore. And Ore. and Ore. Pointy-eared slavery tfw!

All in all, a nice week, though I got a cold and playing for more than an hour at a time wasnt really a good idea.

Barry

--Jorri Stonebreaker, Guardian, level 18, Explorer.--
------------------------------------------------------------
Jorri's week was uneventfull. He mined a bit of Ore, crafted a lot of hides, made an armor for Salmira and got a Steel Axe in return from her. In short, he didnt do much, and he mostly sat on his behind staring at the bar. He'll get more attention this week.

Azzie went on a small tour of the North Downs together with Aikony and Nuru. He managed to get bored to death by yet another boar-quest (after having done a lot of boring quests in the Lone Lands), and eventually he went off on his own to teh Fields of Fornost, killed a few oath breakers and managed to aquire some gold ore and some Rich Iron. And he even got to level 22... quite nice. He''s now halfway to 23, uses a nice hammer, has decent armor and smacks things like there is no tomorrow. Oh, and I ran him through Orthongroth a few times, each time dying somewhere between two deadly barrow wights and two normal barrow wights, but it yielded about 500 silver in a good hour and a halfs work so that was quite the effort. Once everythign was said and done Azzie also made a master-crafted set of armor for Gobulac, my wife's Hobbit Guardian, who looks really cool in his new, nifty Bronze Armor (and drwaf bronze, and hardenend heavy bronze, etc).

------------------------------------------------------------
--Hallwyn Nuinloth, Hunter, level 16, Woodworker --
------------------------------------------------------------
Hallwyn and Lyllwyn had a rest this weekend, didn't do much. Got some wood, got my forester skill up, and that was that.

----------------------------------------------
--Salmira, Burglar, level 14, Historian.--
----------------------------------------------

Salmira had a jolly good time slaying everything she met. She got defeated by some goblins (rather silly... was running after Gorbie, Gorbie eventually turned and slew a goblin, and I deceided it was a good idea to turn around since I thought I had shaken the bunch off, but appearently I had not and she took a last hit and died). We also went looking for Aunt Prumella's Umbrella in a goblin camp but we didnt quite make it... ran through the camps... all the way in.... killed three score or more goblins, but during the exit (couldnt find the umbrella) I ran afoul of 4 goblins at the same time and got defeated again. Gorbie then ran for it, and came to the point where I lay, and kept running, and he had, literally, like 20 goblins on his tail. Twas quite the sight, but smart as Gorbie was, he kept running. Managed to level Salmira to 14 and a half, so that was nice.

Most likely I'll be adding a new hobbit to this group of fools... a Hobbit Warden I guess. I want a Warden, have loved it ever since I saw its video... so... Spartan we call em here right? Can't wait till its friday when I can play again.

Barry

Since I am enjoying Lord of the Rings Online tremendously, I want to write about it a bit. I'm a total newbie when it comes to LOTRO, although not to online gaming, and it is very nice as a newbie. First, let us introduce our characters. Yes, characters, more than one. I've been playing for about a month now (a little longer) and this is what I managed to do.

------------------------------------------------------------
--Jorri Stonebreaker, Guardian, level 18, Explorer.--
------------------------------------------------------------
Jorri Stonebreaker is my first character and a Dwarf to boot. I actually wanted to call him "Snorri" but that name was already taken. Why Snorri? Apart from LOTR-madness I've also had Warhamemr Fantasy Battle Madness, and I have always had a place in my heart for the Dwarf Troll Slayers, and one of the special rules is called "Look Snorri, Trolls!" which allows them some extra movement... which is most likely the reason Snorri is already taken. Anyway, "Look Snorri, Trolls!" is now "Look Jorri, Trolls!". So... we have Jorri, a young dwarf, an explorer, a tailor, who is now level 18 and wears some nice Hardened Elven Armor crafted by Nogg (again, many thanks for that). Current plans for Jorri include following the main quest line (1, 7 atm so a little behind the level) and hunting Trolls in the Lone-Lands ASAP.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Azrakhul Shieldhammer, Champion, level 20, Armoursmith.--
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Azzie. Ah, Azzie. Azzie is another dwarf, like Jorri, and I think I'll establish their relationship as father-son (Azzie being the father, Jorri, with shorter beard and red hair, the son). Azzie likes to forge armour and he is running around in his own, crafted Bronze Armour. I am really proud of this set as this is the first heavy armour set I made and it includes several Dwarven-elements, and I made them at mastery level so it is a nice set indeed. Currently Azzie is working towards Journeyman Mastery, which means he will need to mine a LOT of Barrow-Iron Ore (almost done with Journeyman... havent started on the mastery yet). Unfortunately, I do not want to make new armor parts untill I hit the mastery level, so Azzie will spend the next few days of his life in the Barrows hunting for Ore. And Barghests (some 30 more to kill before I hit Barghest Slayer and get the Agility-trait).

------------------------------------------------------------
--Hallwyn Nuinloth, Hunter, level 16, Woodworker --
------------------------------------------------------------
Hallwyn was made specifically to play with Lyllwyn, the Elven Ministrel my wife made to try out LOTRO. He's a pointy-ear, obviously. He's been great fun although I switched his profession from Armsman to Woodworker as my wife keeps hugging all the ore, she being a Tinker and needing it pretty bad. Nuinloth means "Beneath-the-Blossoms" in Elvish, and Lyllwyn also has Nuinloth as a last name. I do not really have plans for him other than getting his crafting skill up, as I play him only when I play with the missus.

----------------------------------------------
--Salmira, Burglar, level 10, Historian.--
----------------------------------------------
My wife plays her Ministrel as a blood-mad Berserker and I pointed out that although possible, perhaps she'd also wanted a Melee-char. This ened up being Gorbulac, a Hobbit Guardian. As I, being a LOTR-freak, have always wanted a sneaky hobbit, I made Salmira, a burglar/historian to play some of the newbie quests alongside of her. They are not neccisarily played together (which is nice) but they do play together, but Gorbulac has taken the lead in levelling. Salmira is a historian because she is interested in history and the loot that history has provided the lands with. In short, she's greedy like a dragon (but also fierce like a dragon). And she's a hobbit. Obviously. I must say I really enjoy seeing her bash things and backstab them (backstabbing FTW!).

So... this is where I am now. This week Ill be looking into getting mroe receipes, more Ore, (Barrow Iron Ore being high on that list) and more XP. And loot. Always the loot. I'll try and post updates of their adventures in this thread on a weekly basis.

Regards,

Barry
