报告题目：A brief introduction to theta functions

报告摘要：

Theta functions are special functions of several complex variables，which was first introduced by Jacobi. Theta functions is a central subject in the study of Mathematics, which play a key role in many branches of Mathematics, including algebraic geometry, number theory, partial differential equations and combinatorics. In this talk, I will give a brief introduction to theta functions and discuss a few applications of theta function identities to number theory and combinatorics.

报告人简介

刘治国，华东师范大学数学系教授，博士生导师。主要研究Ramanujan数学，英国皇家学会破格授予“王宽诚皇家学会研究奖学金”，在Advances in Mathematics，Trans Amer. Math. Soc.等国际期刊发表研究论文60多篇，主持多项国家自然科学基金。
